While i am a firm believer that one doesn’t need to be completely hairless, i do tend to obsess over my body hair from time to time. The tiny spots that pop up on my skin every 15 days indicate that i need to visit the salon soon or perhaps just use the razor for quick results. Honestly, i have tried all methods of hair removal and each one has it’s own pros & cons. While i have been waxing for more than a decade now & have noticed that my hair growth has considerably reduced, i don’t mind switching over to epilators or razors from time to time.

What is an epilator?

According to Wikipidea, “An epilator is an electrical device used to remove hair by mechanically grasping multiple hairs simultaneously and pulling them out. The way in which epilators pull out hair is similar to waxing, although unlike waxing, they do not remove cells from the epithelium of the epidermis

BRAUN SILK-EPIL 5

When i got my hands on the Braun Silk-epil 5, i was quite thrilled to try it out. Mainly because i already own 2 Braun epilators and they do a fantastic job in removing body hair. The special feature of this particular model is that it’s a wet & dry epilator i.e you can also use it in the shower.

Just like any other hair removal method, it does feel a little painful initially. However, as time passes by, your body gets immune to the pain. Make sure to hold the epilator in an 90 degree angle when you epilate. It’s also important to exfoliate your legs 24hrs after you epilate to avoid ingrown hair.

The braun silk-epil 5 comes with a charging cable, brush, shaver head, a trimmer cap, skin contact cap & high frequency massage cap.

What’s your favourite hair removal method?
